Philosophy

TAGĀNOS is a blossom of its own kind, sprouting from the fertile soil our Vienna-based  Practice for Architectural Interfaces and is our Middle Eastern and North African branch in Egypt.

The name Tagānos holds layered meanings that reflect our intercultural mission between Europe and the Mena Region, headquartered in Egypt. In Greek, “ta ganos” (τὸ γάνος) refers to brightness, sheen, and blooming freshness – a poetic term used to describe a luminous surface or a fertile blossoming.

In Arabic and Egyptian dialect, Tagānos (tajānus) evokes harmony, cohesion, coherence and balance – the seamless integration of parts into a meaningful and cohesive whole. Together they express our practice: Generating coherence across the scales of urban design, architecture, interior and product design.
